Donatella Versace oversaw the interior design, which combines Arabic architectural features with Neo-classical Italian traditions to create a sufficiently eye-catching effect. The lobby has a gold-adorned ceiling, a hand-crafted marble mosaic floor consisting of around 1.5 million pieces, and a grand entryway chandelier made of 6,600 pounds (2,721 kg) of hand-blown Bohemian glass.

It took more than a year to manufacture the striking 223-foot-long (68-meter) copper hull that extends from the entrance to the lobby. A homage to the bygone era of shipbuilding, when copper sheets were applied to the hull to increase speed and discourage barnacle attachment. The blue chain link sculpture, an iconic piece of American pop art that evokes images of anchor chains, is another noteworthy element of the foyer.

The Dalian Castle Hotel is a stunning castle perched on a hill, and inside, it's just as captivating. From common spaces to guest rooms, the opulent décor is reminiscent of European palaces, but the Grand Lobby is truly remarkable. Plenty of light is let in by the tall glass ceiling, which glistens on the marble floor and highlights the wrought-iron accents. It genuinely appears to be something from a fairy tale.
